Sacagawea
A young Shoshone woman who guided explorers across America.
The Story
Sacagawea was only about sixteen when two explorers needed her help.
She carried her tiny baby on her back the whole way!
She knew the plants, the mountains, and the rivers, and taught the explorers how to find food.
When they met other tribes, she helped everyone talk kindly to each other.
Without her, the explorers might have gotten very, very lost.
