The Story
Sally loved science and tennis, and she was terrific at both.
She saw a newspaper ad asking for new astronauts — and she wrote in!
Out of thousands of people, NASA picked her.
In 1983 she blasted off on the space shuttle and floated among the stars.
When she came home, she started programs to help kids love science too.
