Nellie Tayloe Ross

Nellie lived in Wyoming, the very first state that let women vote.

When her husband, the governor, died, the people asked her to take his place.

In 1925 she became the first woman governor in America.

Later she ran the whole country's money — she was the first woman in charge of the U.S. Mint.

Her face appeared on the very first coins printed while she led the Mint.
