Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor was very shy when she was little, but she loved to help others.

When her husband Franklin became president, she became the First Lady.

She traveled everywhere — to coal mines, to army hospitals, to schools.

She listened to people no one else was listening to, and told the president what she learned.

Later she helped write a promise for the whole world about human rights.
