The Vietnam War Ends

For almost 20 years, America helped South Vietnam in a very hard war against North Vietnam.

Many families back home marched in the streets asking for the war to stop.

By 1973, most American soldiers had come home, and the fighting continued between the two Vietnams.

On April 30, 1975, the long war finally ended and North and South Vietnam became one country.

Today, a beautiful black stone wall in Washington, D.C. lists every American who served and did not come home.
