Roald Amundsen

Roald grew up in Norway sleeping with his window open to toughen up for the cold.

He dreamed of exploring the icy ends of the Earth.

With sled dogs and a small brave team, he set off across Antarctica.

In December 1911, he became the very first person to stand at the South Pole.

Later, he even flew over the North Pole in an airship!
