Desmond Tutu

Desmond grew up in South Africa when Black and white people were kept apart.

He became a bishop and spoke out — kindly but loudly — against the unfair rules.

He said everyone belonged to one big 'rainbow family.'

When apartheid ended, he helped his country forgive and heal together.

He won the Nobel Peace Prize, and his big laugh became famous all over the world.
