Kamala's mom came from India and her dad came from Jamaica — she was very proud of both.
As a little girl she rode in her stroller at civil-rights marches.
She grew up to be a lawyer, then a senator, then something no woman had ever been.
In 2021 she was sworn in as Vice President — a job forty-eight men had held before her.
She showed girls everywhere that they belong at the very top.
