The Story
In Chicago long ago, many families came from far away and had nowhere to go.
Jane bought a big old house called Hull House and threw the doors open.
Inside, kids could go to kindergarten and grown-ups could learn English.
She helped make new rules so kids wouldn't have to work in factories.
She showed America that being neighborly is a very big job.
