The Story
Aretha grew up in Detroit, singing in her father's church where every song was a big joyful shout.
She started playing piano before she could reach the pedals.
When she grew up she sang a song called 'Respect' that reminded everyone to be kind to one another.
Her voice could shake the roof or hush a whole room down to a whisper.
The whole world crowned her the Queen of Soul.
