The Lewis & Clark Journey

America had just gotten a huge new piece of land, and nobody had made a map of it yet.

So two friends named Meriwether Lewis and William Clark set off to see it with their own eyes.

They paddled up rivers, climbed tall mountains, and met many new plants and animals.

A young Shoshone woman named Sacagawea helped them find their way and speak with other tribes.

When they finally reached the giant ocean on the other side, they cheered — they had crossed a whole country!
