The Korean War

Just five years after World War II ended, war broke out on a small peninsula called Korea.

The north of Korea attacked the south, and the United Nations asked many countries to help.

American soldiers went to a place they had never even heard of, and they fought through icy winters.

After three long years, the fighting stopped along a line called the 38th parallel.

South Korea stayed free, and today it's a busy, peaceful country full of kids, K-pop, and kimchi.
