George Washington Carver

George was born enslaved, but he loved plants from the time he was tiny.

People called him the 'plant doctor' because he could heal sick gardens.

He went to college and became one of the first Black students to study farming.

He taught farmers to grow peanuts, which made the soil happy and healthy.

Then he invented over 300 things from peanuts — from soap to ink to milk!
