Dolores Huerta

Dolores was a schoolteacher who noticed her students often came to class hungry.

Their families worked in the fields, but they didn't earn enough to buy food.

She and her friend Cesar Chavez helped the workers ask for fair pay together.

She led peaceful marches and boycotts — 'Sí, se puede!' she would shout.

Thanks to Dolores, farm workers finally got safer jobs and better pay.
