The first American to fly into space — and hit a golf ball on the Moon.
The Story
Alan was born in New Hampshire and loved airplanes from the time he was little.
He became a test pilot flying the fastest planes in the world.
In 1961 he squeezed into a tiny rocket and became the first American in space.
Ten years later he walked on the Moon with Apollo 14.
Right there on the Moon, he pulled out a golf club and hit two little golf balls.
